As a freelance bookkeeper I had the opportuntity to work for myself and in 2002 I started my own business in NYC where I was living at that time under my own name so I did not choose to become an LLC until 2008.
As I said in my last posts Craigslist is a force to be reckoned with on the internet because there are no laws yet to govern the internet and Craigslist is really not responsible for the ads or people responding to those ads and getting in trouble because of them. The only thing I think they are responsible for is that damn EROTIC section they make millions of bucks from people placing ads at $25/ad and a lot of those ads are for prostitutes and underaged girls, that kind of stuff.
But in 2002 those types of people were not yet on Craigslist. Unfortunately for me the types of nuts on that website were CLIENTS. Here is my retelling of several of the worst offenders that I have encountered from my years using the hot website – again none of these encounters are the fault of the list serve – but you must be very careful about placing ads and sorting through prospective clients that respond to your ads.
